Scoring and Timing in Citybuilder games 9 years 1 month ago #4757

I am trying to understand how the scoring and timing works in citybuilder games

Specifically here are the results from a couple of my recent games on server 13

Game Number Player Population Years Played Points Scored Winner Goal Reached Total Time Played
9595 stevet 3363 2 7 Yes 2015-09-17 09:43:13 00 Hrs, 39 Min
9594 stevet 3349 3 4 No 2015-09-17 08:34:25 00 Hrs, 37 Min

In game 9595 I played for 2 years but the game took 39 mins, in the 9594 the game was shorter (only 37 mins) but lasted for 3 years. Is this down to slight variation on how the servers time things or are these two measuring different things.

Furthermore am I correct in thinking both of these timers start when a company is created and continue for all the time the company is in existance until the end of the game.

Thanks

Steve

Scoring and Timing in Citybuilder games 9 years 1 month ago #4758

Well, from what I know is:
- Game time (saved as game time, if matters) is the real time game took;
- Game years are counted using ingame years. (ending year - starting year).
Only gametime is taken into account for points calculation but, as told above, game years depends of ingame years math (above too). In other words, early ingame starting month can give different game years count on "years game took", compared with later ingame starting month, and for same time the game took.

Hope it helps... If doubts remain, after sunday i'll be on Irc to clear them :-)
Enjoy the games till then.
