NOTE:
Admins will act on the basis that ALL players know the game and it's mechanics.
We think that no one goes to an online game without first some practice and know how to play it.
Companies without registered nicknames (as shown in Client List) on it, can be reset without warning!
To learn OpenTTD mechanics, there is a forum/wiki and... a Single Player mode!!
Practice before playing on BTPro, and if you decide to start, READ THE RULES first.


 
If you wish to become part of the BTPro Server Operator family, ensuring that the rules are upheld with fairly and justly,
the willingness to teach new players on how to play the game and to make sure BTPro is one of the most relaxed,

Is this allowed?
Recently the bridge trick has been recognized as a cheat so I'm wondering what about other ways of saving space for late game?

Bridge trick is not a cheat. Who says that?

And why should be disconnected roads a problem? What kind of question is that? OpenTTD builds disconnected roads and long bridges sometimes on its own.

well, krawco asked me 1st my opinion and I told him that in my opinion isn't a cheat. But here I accept other admins opinions, more experienced on CB's, because I'm not ^^

side note: never saw a town build roads disconnected on both ends :S

I don't see why building bridges is a cheat?
And I definetely don't see why disconnected roads would be.

The first one just ensures building happens further away from centre. This makes initial pop-growth lower and gives you a boost once you open a path for growth to centre.

The 2nd makes sure that growth doesn't get directed to places where there's no more place. It might fail to place a house if it can't find a place for too long.

The roads also usually aren't town-owned, they're your own since you built them. As long as you don't use roads to block, annoy or cheat other players in any way, you can disconnect your own roads as much as you want. That's my opinion as a player and an admin. I personally wouldn't act on either of these two things, unless it would be stated more clearly in the rules. But before that happens I'd make arguments against that hypothetical rule, since I'd be against it.

I *think* what he is saying is that someone can build that then delete those roads later and add stations there. But i really don't know
