in a quick search among CB servers, found this here :

Population of 440 and 495 (when values were recorded) are way too low to reach points (when goal is 8000).
Probably that's the cause of points = 0. If happens again when you're close the goal and logged in, please inform us

So despite all my efforts.. I sucked

I did not know how to check my results because it just boots you off and reconnects to next game.

But I thought it would have been more than that... More practise needed.

anyway and probably you've already noticed: CB games have different gameplay from traditional CV games. So, watch some CB used players game style and take the good ideas from it

I know you can log into a server to spectate.

Is there a way to follow the "view" of a player and see what they doing? Or do you just have to work out what he is doing from browsing around.

actually there's a tool (patch) that allows you to see players actions: known as Watch Other Companies GUI. It was available here (tt-forums) and here (openttd.fr).
Of course, as it is a patch, needs to be applied to the source code and compiled after to get the binaries.

hey guys! I'm playing CB for some time but I did not found out how points are awarded. I do know that some layouts are rewarded with more points than others and there is a time bonus. maybe there is a bonus for company value, cargo volume and so on. I won games with 12,16,18,21,24 and even 7 points, in less than 1 hour (less than 6 yrs ) or more (7,8 or 9 yrs) with different layout. (i can't remember, for instance, that the 12 points game was won in more that 6 years or not but for sure was a bad city layout)

so how points work anyway? what does matter for the final score?
