Hi all,

Recently I started to play OpenTTD again, was looking for the best goal server around and that’s how I found this server .
I’m JurrienK from Holland, and have been playing OpenTTD for 5 years now. I had some pauses in which I didn’t play, but I come always back to this addictive game .
I’ve started playing OpenTTD on Kurt’s goalservers (stefan.bleibinhaus.de/ottd-archive/). After some time playing there I became moderator. However, Kurt shot his servers down because it cost him too much time to maintain the servers. This is really a pity, because playing on that server meant ALWAYS furious but fair competition and you really had to be creative and know your way around OpenTTD to win a game there (renew your train every year, have a statue asap, etc.). I had my best games on these servers. When the servers shot down, I stopped playing the game for some months.

I picked the game up again at energetic’s and xi’s servers, which were also goal games. Always trying to be the best there, I won a lot of games. I can’t find their website anymore, but after some months they also had to shut their servers down for the same reason as Kurt I believe. Again, I quit the game for some months.

After these months I found out an old buddy from Kurt’s servers, Luukland, started his own servers (www.luukland.net/). After some time I became mod there too and had a lot of fun playing there. With a lot of the old players from Kurt’s servers I again had some very nice games on these servers. Also the quests which Luuk added on a some of his servers were really nice (try to get 100M€ income on a 512 x 512, 1960 map within 6 hours for instance). However, like the previous servers I played on, Luuk had to shut his servers down for the same reasons as Kurt.

So, now I’m back again on this game, and I really look forward to some interesting games! Hopefully I can see some real competitive games again, however, the large maps here don’t really give reason for competition . Still, I think this is the best server around right now!

Welcome to the servers Sounds like you've had quite the experience with ottd over the years Nice to hear that you think we're currently the best around! But new ideas and changes are always welcome so don't be afraid to suggest ideas and even new server ideas new and exciting things are always under development here at BTPRO but time is always the issue for getting ideas into reality. As you're probably aware especially after becoming a Luukland mod due to the nature of how the gamecode is written for those unique citybuild and quest experiences.

A real competitive game can sometimes be difficult to find, just depends who's on and playing at the time so look out for the regulars and the highly experienced ones too because all playing a game together really does lead to some stressful but rewarding playing experiences

Just to put wheels on the right rail, Luukland's servers ended, because Luuk retired from OpenTTD, servers continued just under another name.

Discovered these servers few days back after a long time not playing, and since I always come back to this game I searched for the most populated servers. And I am quite happy Ive found these, had only two games yet but everything looks fine to me

Actualy havent played since luukland changed to novapolis and Ive lost my mod rights which was a relief after that long time. Sometimes it is realy PITA to be a mod and I enjoy I am not one anymore

Also I am happy to see known faces like mr JurrienK here and few others Ive seen around too.

So, Hi BTPRO servers, looking forvard to spoil few games with my presence

As you know we ARE still mods, so please keep the peace in the servers so that we don't have to mod to much (just kidding, I can presume you WILL )
