TRAIN ROUTING 6 years 3 months ago #6686

trains prefer 1 segment dead-end appendix to a healthy vacant line.
if it is a one-way line, they just stuck pounding this appendix indefinitely

analogous effect is:
a train always attempts to leave a FORCED depot by the entry line when the line exit is busy, immediately sees the one way semaphor, and returns to the depo.

imho they should not try this, they had not until recently.

if you have a general new rule of routing (say for realism purposes), plese point me to.

if connected, trains see that "1 segment dead-end appendix" line as a station part too, and if closer and vacant... will take it!

But, my question now, and looking at BTPro rules (7 and 8 ), why did that "1 segment dead-end appendix" existed?

Edit: Because OpenTTD have Waypoints for routing purposes ^^

i was rerouting a junction a train prevented me from deleting the last segment of the line, i ignored it for some time, and then i noticed the effect.

To me, it's the hazard of the game. I still can't see the purpose of your post!
