Getting lotsa breakdowns, must be just unlucky tonight. Does anyone know if a nonstop train will ever stop for maintenance, if not forced by signals to go into a depot?

It will service if a depot is reachable and your settings are set up for it.

Try placing depots on the tracks.

Place those 'free path signals' and they will generally go pretty fast through it. Seeing they can't continue without going through the depot they will always be up to date on the maintenance. (Well till it decays ofcourse)

Go to your advanced settings and turn the maintainence intervals for trains/ road etc to 90 days. This will get rid of your breakdown issues. Also forcing trains into depots is the real way to go, as shown above.

Then every stop in a depot is considered a maintenance visit? Great to know. I didn't know if a forced stop, was still for fixing, or just signal switching and upgrades. I'll give these a go.
