Maybe your eyes keep hurting, because of Toyland optic???

So this will help you to transform the graphics into Temperate in 4 simple steps.

1. Check download content in the OpenTTD main menu and download:
--> Toyland Temperate Replacement NewGRF <--

2. Close your OpenTTD client and open the file 'openttd.cfg' with Notepad or another text editor.
(normally you find this in 'C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\OpenTTD' (for Windows)).

3. Insert the following line to [newgrf-static].:
4A530AB2|077F137989E646972C5BCBD299C1B50F|toyland_temperate_replacement-2012.10.12\removetoyland.grf =
(after that, don't forget to save your file)

4. Restart your OpenTTD client and check out a Toyland map.
Now it should look like this:
