The roads arent connected in a square from scratch so i dont understand what you mean that you cant make your own layout.

Its much easier to convert 2x2 to random/3x3 than vice versa.

Bc of random layout, depeding on your own preference, you could pick a (often small) town 2x2 or a 3x3 starting grid, or sometimes i wanted someting else and pick a town with a scribly layout.
doesn't matter, i win enough games and will still loose to M1 and SkyBrutus, no matter what starting grid.
