I recently played many games on CB 8k | Server 12A and I had sometime problems with replacing the HQ further away to accept mail and passangers. Sometimes I lose my claim and was wondering:
-> How far can the HQ be placed away from the city center to still be vailid claiming.

Hmmm, How many tiles you can exactly move away from the center of the town I don't know exactly. I need to examine the code for 12a to determine that.

You can try to display the town zone.
Click a town > local authority > zone
Then move your HQ inside the gray tiles. I tried to check the max distance from the town center tile it is about 20-ish but it can be less if there are some towns located too close with your town.
