Hello train friends :)

Being checking our K1 server (CV 15 bil goal), got a bit sad for seeing that winning strategies was basically this:
- Coal for the profit start;
- Oil from rigs and Goods after;
- On the meantime, growing some towns (preferably Cities on opposite sides of the map);
- Passengers and Mail between them (rail or Air transport);

Noticed that almost 100% of the Mines (Coal or Iron Ore) and Farms were abandoned, we introduced the reducedPassengerPayment newgrf, that reduces Passengers and Mail payment to half.
One fact is known, the oil race (from rigs) will continue to exist but, since the ships limits, we expect that players don't see only pax service as a winning strategy and turn to other resources available on the map. Lets call it a try to balance it ^^

I usually play K1 it once a year (too long for me)... Maybe I will play there twice a year now, thanks :)
Oil rigs + farms would be my choice now.

Couple players already congratulated me for the change. Mostly because they were used to some industry chains, strategies that nearly got impossible lead to win, how it was!

And, from what I've seen, game can be finished in a good time too! Ofc, maybe can require a bit more work ^^

last night Utslagsnes mentioned that all oil wells get closed - and he was right, it's on OpenTTD mechanics to act like that - when Oil Rigs spam like hell, the Oil Wells are doomed. He also mentioned why not keep that chain too - since it's possible (I think) because of a NewGRF - why not try it and see how it goes ^^

And so this is it, server #K1 is now with this newgrf too:
- Temperate Oil Wells CAN increase - oilsgoup.grf

Can be downloaded on the usual places. Enjoy the games and keep giving suggestions :)

Yes, i just did 8hour game with starting coal and oil rigs and finishing with farms and goods.

Also when i have time this weekend maybe, ill check out the new oil wells grf, sounds fun to me :)

The changes made to the K1 server works fine, I appreciate the change to the oil wells. The reduced income for mail and passengers should move us players to explore the many industries and the possibilities they represent.
The game can still be won within a reasonable amount of time.
