Hello. I have been playing for a couple weeks now and thought it was time I actually post on here. Like most everyone else I used to play this game back in the day and now I just found out about open TTD a couple weeks ago. While I am posting, I may as well ask if anyone knows how the algorithm for points works. Some games I seem to be doing really well and finish quickly and only get ten points then other times, even on the same maps I take longer to reach the goal and end up getting forty points.

About the scores: The score system is currently bugged. When 1.2 is released we will start over with the top scorelist. Untill then we won't be able to fix it.

wait so just to get this straight, when 1.2 is released then all scores will be reset back to zero?

That's right. Then everybody has a chance to get in the top scorelist.
