My flatmate plays occasionally ottd aswell. Naturally we share the same network as we live in same apartment and when we play on the server we get the message "player x is clone of y". He isn't registered on these forums.

Any way to prevent this from happening?

Not really unfortunatly... We have implemented that feature because some players connect multiple times to the servers to open multiple companies and missuse it... Its not a big issue though as long as you let one of the admins know that you are playing together with your flatmate...
