What about having one or two weekly tournaments?
Quick/Short goal server, starting at a set time (e.g. Wednesday and Sunday at 19:00 CET).
The "price" can e.g. be doubble points?

Pherhaps it also should be mentioned briefly whenever the stats are showing (after the info about joining the comunity); eg: "Weekly competions at server #4 every Wed/Sun at 19:00 CET."

Well, it's doable, but this means that everytime when a tournament starts a different plugin for the admin interface needs to be loaded...

Maybe it would be a better idea to make a seperate tournament server for this purpose, then setup a specific time when the server "unpauses" the game (tournament starting times) and load a plugin which calculates points accordingly when the goal is reached and pauses the game again until a new game should start.

I have to think about this, please think with me in this thread, all suggestions are welcome!

Ok, how much troubble is it load a different admin interface plugin? I think it is important that the tournament settings will only work when the tournament is live. Playing well in the tournament should give more points as the competition should be alot harder. Also it should not be possible to start a game with tournament settings whenever the tournament has finished/inbetween tournament days. Also a separate tournament ladder rank would be cool (eg. total points achieved in a tournament, number of top 3 placements and number of wins etc).
