it would be fantastic to enchance the 'autorenew' mech with the following features:
-- renew to the latest available engine (or an engine of user's choice)
-- initiate compulsory renew procedure manually, regardless of the age
-- by default make renewal few years before expiration (it is annoying that default value is nonsensical)

only to clear somethings:
- BTpro client is based on original OpenTTD;
- When placing a suggestion, please provide some more info, screenshots, irc chat lines, etc

a suggestion as "when laying a track over a place with unsuitable signals, it is better to silently remove signals and lay track instead of exception." happens for 3 reasons:
1- you have no idea what you talking about;
2- you want BTPro team do all the work;
3- you're forcing BTPro to enable this ;

personally, I think you can provide us some more info...
BUT
before you even type any other suggestion, get yourself connected to what's possible
- study the code is an option that you should follow before do dumb suggestions;
- test some changes yourself, create diff files and provide to us... as a client suggestion!

The last one is changeable in the advanced settings already, and if you do so in the main menu, it will be like that for all games. So that's already in place.

The renewing towards a newer engine is already very easy too, I don't see why any changes are needed. I personally would be annoyed by even more automated renewal, since I want to decide when I have enough money and to which engine I want to replace.


And what ST2 was trying to say is that he'd like that the suggestions in here are a bit more thought trough, instead of just spammed on here whenever an idea pops up. I know you mean well Silly Sad, but your first of the 2 posts is mostly a thing that should be put into OTTD itself, not in our client, so please make your suggestion to the OTTD developers.
