Or you don't let vehicles set implicit orders at all, I'm pretty sure that's an option in the advanced settings.

You are just searching with the wrong expression. The option you want is:
Vehicles ->
Controls & Orders ->
New orders are 'non-stop' by default.

When I wrote that reply I wasn't able to actually look it up, but I knew it existed.

If you make the orders non-stop, they don't stop on stations that they drive trough on the way there, which means they don't get added as an implicit order.

it is about ALL orders -- which is quite different to "implicit orders"
