Linux compile, can't connect to multiplayer 8 years 2 weeks ago #5117

Hi,

I successfully compiled the btpro client v1.5.3 under Ubuntu 14.04, installed all grfs, and the game runs, and I can play single player. However, when I try to connect to a btpro server, I get this client revision does not match the revision of the server. The server reports running v 1.5.3 as well, and it's not telling me I am missing resources.

I still also have the un-modded openttd 1.5.3 which connects to the btpro servers just fine.

Any Idea

Written from phone:
It's known that source files make that... Hopefully will be fixed next release. Reason: are the source files from SVN.

Try this:
- Download SVN source with: svn checkout svn://svn.openttd.org/tags/1.5.3
- Apply BTPro diff file with: patch -p0 < ***.diff
- Usual configure with: ./configure
- Make (I usually use "make bundle"

Any help needed, just say :-)
